Bio

Kristen Swedberg, PhD, is an environmental economist whose work explores the social benefits of protecting water quality. She is a PRODiG+ Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Public Administration and Policy at Binghamton University. She teaches in the Master of Public Administration and Sustainable Communities M.S. Program. Her research interests include water quality valuation using both revealed and stated preferences, integrated assessment modelling, and environmental policy evaluation. She completed a PhD in Economics from Virginia Tech in 2024 and M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Virginia Tech in 2020. Her work in hedonic valuation of lake water quality has been published in PNAS and Land Economics.
